Before you begin

Have the following information available:

Find the exact hostnames in cPanel under Email Accounts → Connect Devices or obtain them from BIAS Support.

Recommended settings

Account type: IMAP
Username: Full email address
IMAP security: SSL/TLS
IMAP port: 993
SMTP authentication: Required
SMTP security: SSL/TLS or STARTTLS
SMTP port: 465 or 587, as specified by your server

Steps

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook.
  2. Open account settings or choose Add Account.
  3. Enter your full email address.
  4. If automatic setup does not work, select the manual or advanced configuration option.
  5. Choose IMAP.
  6. Enter the incoming server hostname shown in cPanel.
  7. Enter the outgoing SMTP hostname shown in cPanel.
  8. Enter the secure ports and encryption settings.
  9. Enter your full email address as the username for both incoming and outgoing authentication.
  10. Enter your mailbox password.
  11. Save the account.
  12. Send a test message to confirm outgoing mail.
  13. Confirm that a new incoming message is received.

If setup fails

Check:

  • correct hostname;
  • full email address used as username;
  • password;
  • port;
  • encryption type;
  • SMTP authentication.

Do not use port 25 for normal end-user mail-client configuration unless specifically instructed by BIAS.
