BIAS uses a secure remote support platform to assist clients with technical issues.

Before starting

Only start a remote support session:

  • when you have requested assistance from BIAS; or
  • when a BIAS technician has instructed you to connect.

Do not allow unknown persons to remotely access your computer.

Steps

  1. Open the BIAS website.
  2. Select Support.
  3. Select Remote Support.
  4. Follow the instructions in the embedded remote support window.
  5. If prompted, download and run the temporary support client.
  6. Provide the session information to the BIAS technician if requested.
  7. Remain available while the technician connects.

Depending on your browser or operating system, you may need to approve a security prompt before the session starts.

During the session

The technician may ask you to:

  • approve screen sharing;
  • approve administrative access;
  • demonstrate the issue;
  • close sensitive applications before troubleshooting.

When the session is complete

Close the remote support application if it does not close automatically.

Security reminder

BIAS will not ask you to provide passwords through an unexpected remote-support request. If you are uncertain whether a support request is legitimate, contact BIAS using the published support details.
