Email Troubleshooting
Mailbox Full or Email Quota Exceeded
A hosted mailbox can stop receiving mail when it reaches its assigned storage quota.
- Applies to
- BIAS clients
- Estimated time
- 5 minutes
- Last updated
Common symptoms
- sender receives a mailbox-full error;
- new messages are not arriving;
- webmail shows a quota warning;
- the mailbox is at or near 100% usage.
Free space
Consider:
- Delete unnecessary messages.
- Delete large messages or attachments that are no longer needed.
- Empty Trash.
- Empty Spam/Junk where appropriate.
- Review Sent Items for large attachments.
Important
Deleting a message may not immediately free storage until the Trash folder is emptied.
Need additional capacity?
If the mailbox remains near its quota after cleanup, contact your administrator or BIAS Support to review available hosting capacity and mailbox limits.
